Day 1: Šenk homestead
In
the afternoon we expect you on Šenk homestead. After the check-in, you will
settle in your room/apartment or set up your tent. You can spend the rest of
the afternoon actively and visit some of the most popular spots of Jezersko.
Not far from our homestead there is a church of St. Andrew. From the church,
you just follow the main road and after a couple of minutes of walk, you will
come to the mineral water spring (Jezerska slatina) that is known near and far.
The mineral water contains a lot of magnesium and is highly recommended to
those with cardiovascular diseases. Return to the main road and continue
straight forward. You will see a crossroads and a sign for Lake Planšar
(Planšarsko jezero). At the crossroads, turn left and the road will lead to
this lovely heart-shaped lake, the most visited spot of Jezersko. Passing the Lake
you will find yourself in the part of Jezersko, called Siberia (Sibirija). When
you arrive at the beginning of the Ravenska Kočna thematic path, turn left and
continue towards farms Kropivnik and Jenk. A part of farm Jenk is also a
majestic 500-years old building named Jenk's barracks (Jenkova kasarna), now an
ethnographic museum. Right after Jenk farm turn left and you are back at Šenk
homestead. At your request, we can serve you a delicious dinner. Overnight
stay.

Day 2: Šenk homestead – Mountain pass Jezerski vrh
(Seeberg saddle) – Mt. Pristovški Storžič – Mountain pass Jezerski vrh (Seeberg
saddle) – Šenk homestead
Your
day starts with a hearty breakfast. The most enthusiastic hikers can start
their hike right at our homestead. Pass our camp and continue to the main road
where you turn right and continue to pass Jezerski vrh. All those little less
enthusiastic hikers can drive to the pass and park there. The trail is very
well marked (just follow signs in colours of the Austrian flag – red and
white). For the ascent, you can choose a shorter, but a bit more demanding
trail that starts at the forest road and then leads you across a meadow and
along the ridge to the north-western side of the mountain. Some parts of the
trail are a bit exposed and require more caution. At the top of Mt. Pristovški
Storžič stands a big iron cross. The view from the top is splendid: You can see
all over the Valley of Jezersko, neighbouring Austria (Kärnten), the Karawanken
and even the Julian Alps. For your descent, you can take the same trail or
choose another, less demanding trail (past »Pastirkov vrh« and »Skalarjeva
planina«). Return to Šenk homestead. You can spend your afternoon resting or
take a short walk. At your request, we can serve you dinner (at 6 p. m.).

most popular hikes, a hike to the Češka koča mountain hut, a 120-year old

(the trail leads you past farms Jenk and Kropivnik and along the Ravenska Kočna
Theme Path) or you can drive to the parking lot in the Ravenska Kočna Valley.
Several trails lead to Češka koča. The most popular one leads past the
Štularjeva planina pasture mountain. When you go past the Štularjeva planina
trail becomes a bit narrower and more demanding. There are also some steel
ropes for your safety and also a short wooden ladder. When you go past »Mrzla
dolina« (cold Valley), Češka koča is just a couple of steps away. Enjoy
beautiful views and treat yourself to a cup of hot tea and some delicious
homemade dishes that are served in the hut. All of you who want some more
adrenaline can ascent to the nearby viewpoint Vratca. From Češka koča ascent to
Kamplejc (the biggest boulder around) and there turn right. Continue across the
scree and enter a very narrow part of the trail between Vratca and Zeleni kup.
The terrain is very crumbling and this part of the trail is equipped with steel
ropes. When you reach the top, you will be blown away by the magnificent view
over the Makekova and Ravenska Kočna Valleys. For descent use the same trail
and return to the Valley. Spend your afternoon resting and relaxing. At your request,
